I’ve written about the Miniatur Wunderwelt in one of our newsletters some time ago and said if I ever was in Hamburg that would be top of my list of things to visit. Guess what?? I was in Hamburg last weekend and I went…and LOVED IT!!!! There were even monkeys on a beach and scubadiving cows. Ohhhhh these crazy German miniature railway dudes. Here a few images I took.

Back in June when we visited Pulse fair in London we met Jemma from CUSTHOM who showed their beautiful wares. We immediately placed an order for the lovely Curve Cushions which are now in stock. In fact we liked them so much that our big brother Thorsten is now working with CUSTHOM on an entire range which will be launched at the beginning of September at Maison & Objet in Paris. This will include cushions, mugs, small plates, small bowls, napkins and possibly place mats and a tablecloth!! We’ll show you the results very soon.

Today we went on our annual visit to the Ardingly Antique Fair to search for some Spades & Forks.
We always feel a little sad though when we have to cut off the handles as those are the only bit we really want. Especially when they have been carefully cleaned, polished and oiled. Ooops. But in our defence, they are going to a better place; From the cold dark and damp shed they have been promoted to the dining room and kitchen (well, at least half of it has!).

Afri Cola is Germany’s answer to Coca Cola but is just that little bit cooler!!
This year is Afri Cola’s 80th birthday (it was first registered in 1931) and is still sold in the classic bottle which was designed in 1962 by Professor Jupp Ernst.
